Support — Troshkali

Last updated: 18 September 2026

Troshkali tells you whether you can really afford a purchase before you make it. If something isn't working, or the app is doing something you don't understand, this page is the place to start — and if the answer isn't here, write to me.

Contact

troshkalik@gmail.com

Troshkali is built and run by one person, so replies come from me directly, usually within two or three days. Telling me your account email, your iPhone model and iOS version, and what you tapped just before things went wrong will almost always save a round trip.

I forgot my password

Tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and enter your email. A reset link arrives from Firebase, which handles sign-in for Troshkali — check your spam folder if it doesn't appear within a few minutes. Once you're signed in, you can change your password under Settings → Account → Password → Change.

I paid for Pro but the app still says Free

Open the paywall and tap Restore in the top corner. That asks the App Store for the purchases attached to your Apple Account and reapplies them.

If it still says Free straight after paying, give it a minute and reopen the app. Your plan is stored on Troshkali's server rather than read from the device, and it only changes once the App Store has confirmed the payment to the server — normally seconds, occasionally longer. If it hasn't caught up after a few minutes, email me with the Apple receipt and I'll fix it by hand.

One thing worth knowing: purchases belong to the Apple Account that paid, and your Troshkali data belongs to the email you signed in with. If you signed in with a different email than the one you had when you bought Pro, restoring won't find anything — sign back into the original account.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

Apple handles all billing for Troshkali Pro, so cancelling happens on Apple's side, not in the app. Use Settings → Plan → Manage subscription, which opens Apple's page directly, or go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for, and nothing is deleted when it ends — your budget, goals and history stay exactly as they are, and the app returns to the free limits.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Settings → Account → Delete account. It is immediate and permanent: your budget, goals, purchases and payment plans are removed from the database, and your sign-in credentials are removed from Firebase. There is no recovery afterwards, and nothing to request from me.

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — do that first, using the section above, or Apple will keep billing you for an account that no longer exists.

The scanner read the wrong price

Scanning is a Pro feature that reads a price off a tag or a receipt so you don't have to type it. It works best when the price sits inside the frame, the tag fills a good part of it, and the light is even — small print at an angle is where it struggles.

Whatever it reads is filled into the form for you to check, and you can edit it before saving, exactly as if you'd typed it. The photo is read on your phone by Apple's Vision framework and is never uploaded, never saved and never sent anywhere — so there is nothing for me to look at if a scan goes wrong. If it's consistently wrong on a particular kind of price tag, describe it to me and I'll work on the parser.

Can I turn the AI off?

Yes — Settings → AI → AI features, at any time, in either direction.

The important part is that the app does not need it. Whether you can afford something is decided by arithmetic on your own numbers, and that never changes. The AI only writes the sentences that explain the answer. With it off, nothing is sent to Anthropic and you get the same verdicts and the same figures, worded by the app instead.

Why is my currency or my month wrong?

Settings → Display → Currency format changes how amounts are written — the symbol and the separators. It does not convert anything: 1.200 stays 1.200, shown a different way. It's there so your money reads the way you write it, not to do exchange rates.

Your time zone is read from your device, so months and days are counted from where you are rather than from where the server is. If your months seem to roll over at the wrong moment, check the time zone in your iPhone's own settings.

Something else is broken

Email troshkalik@gmail.com with what you expected to happen and what happened instead. If the app showed an error message, the exact wording helps more than anything else. Troshkali has no crash reporting and no analytics — I don't find out about a bug unless someone tells me, so it's genuinely worth writing.
